Young Scientist Series

The Young Scientist Series focuses on a story-based approach from which to investigate the content covered in the World Book print material. In the series Stories from Below, for example, users may access cases dealing with subjects from beneath including the ocean floor, mines, tunnels, roots, and under the skin.

The strength of the story-based approach lies in its authored style. Users enter an adventure-oriented environment with a guide or agent which provides relevant information. The stories incorporate a meaningful context from which to investigate particular subject areas. Users have the option of either watching or listening to an engaging story, or actively participating in activities by selecting objects as they appear at certain times during the story.
